Trailing petunia's genus Calibrachoa is not recognized yet by many gardening societies (such as AHS or RHS). The Million Bells hybrid of calibrachoa is a brand created by Suntory Ltd from Japan and marketed through the Proven Winners label in the U.S. A relative of standard petunias, trailing petunia is smaller, more vigorous, and more profusely flowering. It will tolerate drought, although watering, full sun, and rich soil will increase flowering. Trailing petunias are best grown in hanging baskets so their trailing nature can be best displayed. If you are looking for a cute, prolific flower that is reminiscent of petunias, trailing petunias are the perfect note for your garden.

Please note that the Zones listed above are USDA Hardiness Zones and are only given as a rough indication of whether a plant will grow and thrive in your area. Temperature variations and unusual weather conditions can affect plant survival. To assist plant survival during the winter, you may wish to place mulch over the areas in question or plant the flowers in an area away from walls or cement. Additionally, digging up bulbs and roots to overwinter indoors may be preferrable to keeping them in the ground.
