Best Garden on the Web - St. Mary Monastery Retreat Weekend

Series of photographs showing the St. Mary Monastery of the Sisters of St. Benedict in Rock Island, Illinois during a Retreat Weekend from October 10-12, 2003. This photo depicts one of the two trees at the front of the Benet Guest House, which is next to the monastery. We stayed at the Benet House during our time at the retreat. The Benet House is identical on each side with bedrooms on the upper and lower floors as well as a kitchenette to prepare breakfast. On the upper floor, there is a small chapel and a main area for group meetings/discussion. Sister Catherine Cleary, the retreat director, has her office at the entrance of the house.
